To celebrate the release of “Something, Something, Something Dark Side” in the USA and Canada today, Pop Matters have collected their 10 favourite cartoon families of the last 5 decades in a definitive list entitled All in the Animated Family: 10 Classic Cartoon Clans.

As the stars of the new spoof, Something, Something, Something, Dark Side, Peter and the gang reaffirm their position as prime time TV’s most mentally challenged, unstable, unpredictable, and unscrupulous suburbanites. Imagine The Simpsons with lower IQs, obvious perversions, and far more lax personal hygiene and you’ve got an idea of what to expect from Seth Farlane’s crackhead creation. Never even attempting realism, the entire series plays like Dada for Dodos. Everything’s fake. Everything’s foul. And everything’s funny.
Also included in the list are the Simpsons, the Jetsons, the Flintstones and the Smiths.

Today we unveil a fun little project we’ve been working on, in which we’ve tried to name every single character who appears on Fox’s 150 character celebratory poster for the 150th episode, turning our efforts into 
Wow, I have to wonder how they even remembered Wait Till Your Father Gets Home. Oddly enough, I recognized it as a ripoff, er, parody of All in the Family even as a pre-teen.
I’d also wondered why Family Dog didn’t catch on and Brad Bird leaving pretty much explains it.
I was watching some of the clips from SSSDS and it was great, but hopefully they can get the episodes to be as great as those.
I’m impressed that they managed to screw up Seth’s last name not once, but twice.
