UK: Release Date for “Season 9″ DVD Announced

The episodes themselves haven’t even aired in the UK yet, but today, various British retailers have posted information on the UK DVD release of “Family Guy Season 9″, which will feature episodes from both the last and current seasons of the show. Due for release on May 24th, 2010, just 1 day after the current season ends its initial run on US television, the set will feature 15 episodes.

Picking up where last November’s season release left off, the set will include the last 7 episodes from season 7 (“FOX-y Lady” – “Peter’s Progress”), and the first 8 episodes of season 8 (“Road to The Multiverse” – “Dog Gone”).

Also included are 2 featurettes; “The Multiverse Effect” and “Family Guy Sings-A-Long Karaoke”, along with the mandatory deleted scenes and audio commentaries.

“Partial Terms of Endearment”, the now infamous banned abortion episode, will not feature on the set, but instead will be held for a subsequent release.

As always, we have to remind our US and Canadian visitors that in the UK, the volume DVD sets are incorrectly labelled as seasons. Information is still sparse on Family Guy Volume 8, the US and Canadian equivalent of the UK’s season 9 DVD, but a similar release date is to be expected.
