Entertainment Weekly have posted some preliminary information regarding the much publicized appearance of Kanye West on The Cleveland Show. Kanye will appear in a recurring role under the guise of 19-year-old Kenny West.

His first appearance, airing on May 2nd, will see him get in a rap battle with Cleveland Jr. over the affections of a young woman, who EW tells us will be played by Hustle and Flow‘s Taraji P. Henson. This will be his only appearance in the 1st season; he is however set to appear in an episode from the upcoming 2nd season next September also.

Co-creator Rich Appel said:

“He’s made reference to [Family Guy] on his website and stuff. In the writers’ room, we just thought it would be great to have him as a character on the town. So we came up with the story. He really liked it and said, ‘Sure!’”
